Both original Memory Stick and Memory Stick PRO cards are considered obsolete and have been largely replaced by other memory card formats. With the rise of SD (Secure Digital) cards, Sony began incorporating SD card slots in their devices, marking a shift away from the proprietary Memory Stick format around 2010. While Memory Stick support still exists in some newer devices through adapters, SD cards are now the more prevalent choice for camera memory.
